Can I take ginkgo biloba when pregnant?

That%26#039;s a BIG NO ! No herbs, just pre-natal vitamins while PG !

Can I take ginkgo biloba when pregnant?
If you were talking about the pill form, then no. It%26#039;s too concentrated in dosage. Ginkgo Biloba is a type of nut/fruit with a hard white shell. The flesh is yellow and the Chinese people put it in their desserts or soups sometimes. Pregnant Chinese women eat it too but as far as I know it%26#039;s not advisable to have it too often as it is a YIN food (which has cooling properties.). This nut/fruit is still mild compared to the concentrated pill form. So it%26#039;s better that you stop taking it.
Reply:I personally would not take anything that is not regulated by the FDA while nursing or pregnant. There have been no major studies on the effects of herbs during pregnancy since it is not regulated by the FDA. Best thing to do is contact you OB/GYN and ask them. Better safe than sorry. Good Luck!
